Sharing your spiritual side with others might be beneficial to your business.
We sage-burning, crystal-wielding spiritual types used to feel forced to conceal our "woo" side at work. We were scared that our odd hobbies would cause us to be ignored, but that all changed with Covid-19. That's when we all learned to let our hair down and let our coworkers see what was going on underneath the mask (the metaphorical one, not that one).
Metaphysical tools witnessed a significant increase in popularity as a consequence of the uncertainty we all faced. Since 2015, the demand for gemstones (i.e. crystals that reduce anxiety, make you joyful, and bring you wealth) has more than doubled. We no longer disguise our interest in the mystical, whether it's a cry for aid or a determination to do anything—anything—to feel better.
Books about astrology, palo santo, and crystals may be found at astrological, palo santo, and crystal boutiques all across the United States. T-shirts with the slogans "positive things are coming" and "good vibes only" are available for purchase. Selenite gems are even available on Target.com!
In business, we could all use a little more magic.
So, how does this relate to you and your company? Actually, everything. When we made Zoom calls from our packed closets at the worst of the epidemic, we felt ourselves exposed, and that sense of vulnerability hasn't really gone down since. Will ties and pantyhose ever be worn again? I really hope not.
We've opened the gateway to show our customers and colleagues more of who we are, and it doesn't have to end with turning up for a video chat in a hoodie and no makeup. It may, and should, extend to us using spiritual and health tools on a regular basis.
Never in my lifetime has there been a bigger collective impact on our mental health than the coronavirus epidemic. We've learnt to value our mental and physical health, and we're pursuing remedies in unprecedented numbers, whether it's via yoga, meditation, or Reiki.
Having true, sincere talks with coworkers helps to cement that bond. We connect with others when we allow them into our worlds. Individuals conduct business with people they know, like, and trust, so that vulnerability has a lot of positive potential.
Change the way you run your business.
Don't worry if you haven't tried any of these spiritual practises or tools yet. There's no need to rush. But if you're having trouble finding peace in a chaotic environment, I ask you to look into what draws you in.
Everyone claims that meditation, for example, is too difficult because they are unable to turn off their thoughts. Don't attempt to stop your mind from thinking. Simply sit for five minutes (c'mon, five minutes.) Using an app like Headspace, you can achieve that! Allow your ideas to come to you. Don't pass judgement. Sitting silently (which, spoiler warning, is meditation!) on a daily basis may help you clear your thoughts, reduce tension, and concentrate on work.
Create rituals throughout your workplace if it speaks to you. These may be as easy as burning a pleasant candle first thing in the morning, putting fresh flowers on your desk, or choosing an oracle card before you begin working. It's amazing how a little practise can change your whole outlook for the day.
Then, if you have the chance to discuss whatever you're doing with a customer while conversing with them, don't be bashful. Your client may inform you that she has been experiencing difficulty sleeping. You might suggest that she use lavender essential oil or sleep with an amethyst stone beneath her pillow to help her relax.
You don't have to go into great detail about your hobbies unless she shows interest and asks questions. My argument is this: why wouldn't you share a metaphysical instrument that has helped you in your life? You'd recommend a favourite coffee brand or a massage therapist who works wonders on your knots to a buddy. So why not propose some tools that would be useful to others?
It's time to spiritually come out of the closet.
Since Covid, I've met a slew of individuals, largely women, who have made the transition from unfulfilling jobs to wellness-based enterprises. Reiki practitioners, massage therapists, and intuitive coaches are already among their ranks (like me). They've stopped pushing themselves to follow a predetermined career path that, although lucrative, leaves them unhappy and unsatisfied.
This is fantastic. I think it's fantastic that we're interrogating our principles and realising that if we're not living up to them, it's time for a change.
That might be the case for you, whether it's something as major as entering a whole new field or business, or something as little as getting a tarot card reading to discover what's next in your company. In any case, we must be open to whatever tools and practises can assist us on our path.
